Volker Barber

 

Born in Mainz/Germany is a music composer/producer for Film & TV, graduated from highschool, studied Germanistics and Anglistics at Johannes Gutenberg University/Mainz and had piano lessons at Peter Cornelius conservatory and privat lessons, correspondence course Berklee and extensions at UCLA. Multiple seminars at AIMP, The SCL, CCC. Lives in Frankfurt and Los Angeles.

AWARDS:

Won the German Academy Award called "ECHO" (German “Grammy”), for best newcomer Brass/Funk/Rock "Hired Help Band"

LIVE PERFORMANCES:

Age 16 he performed top 40 hits in clubs. Later on 7 years of writing, performing and touring Europe with fusion jazz rock "The Hired Help Band". Joined charting rock band Tokyo, opening for Meatloaf on Europe tour, and toured internationally with chartbuster Jennifer Rush (the original "Power of Love"chart entry).

IN THE STUDIO

Performed hundreds of studio sessions/productions for artists such as Milli Vanilli, Rob & Fab, Boney M, Meatloaf, Debbie Bonham, Sven Vaeth, Terrence Trent D´Arby and also worked, wrote and  produced with and for triple platinum artist De​borah Sasson, triple platinum artist Anna Maria Kaufmann, voice of the year Tobey Wilson, Emmy/MTV/ Eurovision contest winner Edvin Marton, and wrote musical themes for famous winner world goalie title, 2nd place soccer world champion and much more Oliver Kahn, worldboxing champion Marcus Beyer, and olympic participant Magdalena Brzeska.
